In just five years, more than $105,000,000 in property sales have been made at Marco Island. More than $30,000,000 has been poured into physical improvements by the Marco Island Development Corporation, headed by Florida's Mackle Brothers. These men are the same skilled, dedicated builders who so successfully developed the island community of Key Biscayne on Florida's east coast. At Marco Island their dramatic achievements are recorded on both social and commercial fronts. A new bridge on State Road 951 cuts the distance to Naples from 27 to a mere 16 miles. The island's paved 4,000-foot airstrip has UNICOM radio facilities and is serviced by Naples Airlines. And the Marco Beach Hotel, host to thousands of visitors yearly, has seen a major expansion and continues its record business. Apartment living on the island is a delight. Typical is the newly completed Sunset House (pictured here), rising directly on the beach and overlooking the Gulf. Also shown is another condominium complex, the Sea Breeze South. Both offer islanders the ease and luxury of carefree condominium living." |
