Letter attached to the back of the photograph reads: "From: Public Relations Department Marco Island Development Corp. P.O. Box 280 Miami, Florida 33135 Tel. 377-8111 Marco Island, Florida -- "Condominium Row" on Marco Island continues to boom as the demand continues for high-rise and garden-style condominium apartments in this waterfront community being developed by Florida's Mackle Brothers on southwest Florida's Gulf Coast. The seven-story Emerald Beach is shown on the Gulf beachfront in the upper left, with the Y-shaped Sunset House to its right. The cleared area next to this will be the site of Sunset House North. Immediately behind the Sunset House North site is the start of the seven two-story buildings comprising the 70-unit Sea Breeze West complex. Behind these are the eight buildings of the original garden condominium complex, Sea Breeze. To the left of Sea Breeze are the 12 buildings comprising Sea Breeze South complex. Each garden-style complex has a central pool and recreation area, which are clearly visible in this October, 1969, aerial photograph. The site for newest garden-style condominium complex, the 80-unit Southwinds, does not show in this view." |
